Locked away inside this tower
All I do is eat, sleep, and shower
Occasionally, I do cook
And sometimes get lost inside a book
I watch the birds as they fly by
Wishing I too could join them in the sky
This is not my only wish you see
I only wish to be truly free
I slowly brush my golden hair
This lonliness only mine to bare
It is not easy being alone
I have no T.V., computer, or phone
Then one day I get the call
Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let your hair fall
Then up my tresses he starts to climb
Ony 200 feet until he is mine
Once he finallly reaches the top
He quickly comes to a stop
He slowly drops his head down low
For he left the ladder down below
Rachel, I think this poem is so good! I love that you took a fictional character and made a poem out of it. I love your use of rhyme scheme. I think it all fits so well and none of the rhymes seem forced to me at all. I also like your use of imagery like "this lonliness only mine to bare" and how she wishes she was in the sky free with the birds. I also thought it was a little bit funny how the prince forgets the latter. My only critiques are that you put an extra "l" in "finally" and I am not sure the title fits with the poem. I feel like most of the poem is about Rapunzel being lonely rather than the prince's attempts to free her. I also like that you dont come out and say who she is but rather her true identity is out when she hears the prince say her name. I thought that was a cool way to introduce the character! I like this poem a lot!
